AI's professional association faces an unwarranted bomb scare

On July 23, 2025, an unexpected event unfolded at the AIMA headquarters in Anjos, Lisbon. The day began ordinarily, but at 2:50 pm, a bomb threat was reported, causing a swift response from the authorities.

The police, including the PSP, were promptly called to the scene. The nature of the alert was a potential presence of explosive devices within the building. An individual inside AIMA's headquarters made the call, setting off a chain of events.

The building was evacuated in a matter of 10 minutes, and the evacuees were soon relieved to hear that there were no reported injuries during the process. The authorities, after conducting a thorough inspection, confirmed that no explosive devices were found within the premises.

The confirmation of both the absence of explosives and the absence of injuries was reported by Correio da Manhã. The false alarm, it seems, was a false alarm indeed. The building was reopened about 10 minutes after the alert, much to the relief of those affected.

It is worth noting that the alert, given by telephone, did not result in any injuries. The quick and efficient response from the authorities ensured the safety of all involved. The location of the alert was, of course, AIMA's headquarters.

While the identity and motive of the person responsible for making the call remain unknown, the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and quick action in such situations. The reopening of AIMA's headquarters marked a return to normalcy, a testament to the resilience of the community and the effectiveness of the authorities in handling such incidents.
