Agricultural research and equipment showcase set for August 7 at University of Wisconsin

University of Wyoming organizes a public event at the James C. Hageman Sustainable Agriculture Research and Extension Center on August 7. The location is State Highway 157, close to Lingle. The day starts with registration and refreshments at 8:30 [AM], and the event is free for all ages.

Agricultural research and equipment showcase set for August 7 at University of Wisconsin

The University of Wyoming is hosting a field day at the James C. Hageman Sustainable Agriculture Research and Extension Center (SAREC) near Lingle on August 7, 2025. This free event, open to the public and suitable for all ages, kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with registration and refreshments.

The day's activities include field tours and poster presentations showcasing UW faculty, staff, and student research on various topics. These include carbon markets, pulmonary hypertension in cattle, resilient forage systems, dry bean breeding, wildfire and invasive grasses, and drone use for sugar beet yield prediction.

Attendees are encouraged to visit vendor booths featuring agricultural equipment throughout the day. Three interns from Eastern Wyoming College (EWC), co-hosting the event with SAREC, will share their summer experiences during the event.

Lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m., and the field day will run with tours approximately until noon. The event extends with expert speakers, ag equipment demonstrations, and vendors available throughout the day until about 3 p.m.

One of the highlights of the day will be a guest speaker from ALA Engineering, demonstrating autonomous cattle-feeding technology. The event will also feature demonstrations of new technology, including irrigation systems and drones equipped with ground-penetrating radar.
