Agreement Signed Between Howden and Hydrexia to Boost the Asian-Pacific Hydrogen-Powered Vehicle Market

Howden and Hydrexia Join Forces to Boost Economic Hydrogen Economy in APAC

In a significant move to advance the Economic hydrogen economy in Asia, Howden and Hydrexia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration aims to provide clients with the lowest cost of dispensed hydrogen in the market while addressing key factors in the APAC hydrogen mobility sector.

The MoU, signed on January 1, 2023, brings together the expertise of both companies. Howden, known for its reliable compression solutions across various end-markets and geographies, will combine forces with Hydrexia, a leading provider of hydrogen refuelling station solutions.

Hydrexia offers standard station designs at 500, 1,000, and 2,000 kg per day, and customised solutions at any scale. The company has a proven track record, having collectively delivered 58 HRS projects in China and Southeast Asia since 2016. Notable flagship projects include decarbonising the Shanghai-Pudong freight corridor and the world's largest hydrogen refuelling station in Hebei, China.

Howden's hydrogen solutions portfolio includes leading compression technologies, and its compression systems will be incorporated into Hydrexia's standardised hydrogen refuelling station designs. This integration is expected to streamline mobility applications, specifically hydrogen refuelling stations.

The cooperation between Howden and Hydrexia will also extend to other parts of Asia, including Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. The collaboration aims to accelerate the mobility economy with hydrogen, further advancing the Economic hydrogen economy in the region.

Daniel Zafir, the Chief Executive Officer at Hydrexia Australia, and Ross B. Shuster, the Chief Executive Officer at Howden, will lead the joint efforts. The collaboration builds on a history of successful collaboration between the two companies, having already worked together to deliver nearly 40 refuelling stations.

The solutions will feature a modularisation concept for cost and lead-time efficiencies. This approach is designed to reduce the total cost of ownership of customers' operations while ensuring the availability, reliability, and installation footprint of the hydrogen refuelling stations.

The collaboration between Howden and Hydrexia is expected to play a significant role in the APAC hydrogen mobility sector. The joint efforts are poised to contribute to a more sustainable and efficient Economic hydrogen economy in the region.
