Adobe & Microsoft Patch 179 Bugs, Including Actively Exploited Zero-Days
Adobe and Microsoft have released crucial security updates addressing a total of 179 vulnerabilities, including actively exploited zero-day flaws. Users are urged to apply these updates promptly.
Adobe's security bulletin addresses 105 bugs across multiple products, including a severe vulnerability in Microsoft Outlook (CVE-2023-23397). This flaw, present in self-hosted versions of Outlook like Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise, can be exploited without user interaction, allowing attackers to obtain Windows account passwords using NTLM relay attacks.
Microsoft's update addresses 74 security bugs in its Windows operating systems and software. Notably, seven of these are labelled 'critical'. One of these critical vulnerabilities is an actively exploited zero-day flaw (CVE-2023-24880) affecting Windows SmartScreen. This allows attackers to bypass Mark of the Web (MOTW) defences. Two other patched vulnerabilities are currently being exploited by attackers.
Both Adobe and Microsoft have released significant security updates addressing a total of 179 vulnerabilities, including actively exploited zero-day flaws. Users are advised to back up their data and image their systems before applying these updates to protect against potential security threats.
