Administrative meeting postponed for 90 minutes due to "technical issues" while undergoing digitalization
The Sectoral Conference on Public Administration, convened by Minister for Digital Transformation, Óscar López, faced a setback on Wednesday afternoon. The conference, scheduled for 4:30 PM, was delayed by approximately one and a half hours due to "technical issues."
The event was held at the National Institute of Public Administration Library, as previously mentioned. However, the virtual attendees could not be physically present in Madrid. Due to scheduling issues, Minister Óscar López's explanations were heard by virtual attendees via a mobile phone. The video conference image did not work at any point in the afternoon for virtual attendees.
The technicians were quick to respond, setting up the mobile phone for Minister Óscar López to be heard. Yet, the scene was met with a sense of astonishment by some advisors present at the meeting. Contrary to the invitation, the minister's staff proposed holding the meeting only with advisors present in the room during the delay.
Despite the initial hiccups, the conference resumed nearly ninety minutes later, at around six in the evening. One advisor commented that it was fortunate they were present to discuss the digitization of the sector, while another summed up the situation as ridiculous.
The digitization of public functions was a topic to be discussed, along with "the construction of a network of interconnection of services for citizen attention." One of the advisors also highlighted the importance of the conference, stating that it was an opportunity to address the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation in the public sector.
It is worth noting that the search results do not provide information about the leader of the technician team responsible for fixing technical problems at the Sectoral Conference of Public Administration on Thursday morning.
Despite the initial setbacks, the conference proceeded, with virtual attendees only able to participate by voice. The minister and the advisors present in the room engaged in a productive discussion about the future of digital transformation in the public sector. The conference concluded with a sense of determination to overcome the technical challenges and continue the journey towards a more digital and efficient public administration.
