Pumped about Supercharged Internet in Rhein-Kreis Neuss!

(Here's the scoop on how nearly 6k residents, droves of schools, and an assortment of biz-tits got their digital lives turbocharged, thanks to some prolific cable-laying!)

Who needs a slow, shoddy internet connection when you're living, learning, and working in Rhein-Kreis Neuss? Ain't nobody got time for that petty crap, especially after you've shelled out a ton of cash for those monthly fiber optic fees from network providers.

Let's celebrate, shall we? A hearty round of applause for 131 schools, 3,000 households (that's you and me, homies!), and an impressive 397 businesses across Dormagen, Grevenbroich, Jüchen, Kaarst, Korschenbroich, Neuss, Meerbusch, and Rommerskirchen that are now reveling in their super-fast fiber optic glory.

Did someone say Competitive edge? Landrat Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke (sound like a boss, huh?) shared some insight: "A speedy and extensive internet connection with suitable bandwidth is a future-oriented competitive advantage for Rhein-Kreis Neuss and contributes to further bolstering our premium location quality."

So, how'd this magic happen? Let's delve into the details:

In a valiant quest to fill those 'white spot' areas (where internet speed falls below 30Mbps), Deutsche Telekom laid the fiber optic foundations. Across five construction phases, these badasses equipped eligible parts of the district with fiber to the home, making it possible to surf at up to 1,000Mbps. Beginning in 2019, this project has finally achieved completion!

To commemorate this impressive milestone, a powwow was organized in Grevenbroich, inviting all participating municipalities. Attendees? Kreisdirektor Dirk Brüggge, Government President Thomas Schrümann, Bundestag members Hermann Gröhe (CDU) and Bijan Djir-Sarai (FDP), Heike Troles (CDU state parliamentarian from Grevenbroich), mayors Klaus Krützen (Grevenbroich) and Harald Zillikens (Jüchen), and Frank Gensler (first deputy mayor of Neuss—knew you'd appreciate the specifics.) Plus, the Gigabit coordinator of Rhein-Kreis Neuss, Marina Tressel.

The net funding of this subsidy project in Rhein-Kreis Neuss amounts to approximately eight million euros. Allow me to break it down for you: the federal government contributes 50%, the state covers 40%, and the municipalities contribute a measly 10%. But hey, every little bit helps, right?

The state's financial support extends beyond mere financial aid. They also choose to fund Gigabit coordination in districts and independent cities. This harmonious dance between local and regional approvals ensures a smooth flow in funding projects, as stated by the powers that be.

So, what's this new network equipped to handle? Apparently, it's a beast, allowing for seamless work, learning, video conferencing, surfing, and streaming without that pesky lag or interruptions. And, in the spirit of transparency, they completed over 95 km of earthworks and rolled out a whopping 362 km of fiber optic cable during the project phase.
