A bargain-priced, all-electric dual-sport motorcycle from Ultraviolette boasts a substantial torque output of more than 370 foot-pounds.

The Ultraviolette Shockwave, an electric off-road motorcycle, is set to make its debut in early 2026, starting with Nepal, with further expansion expected in other global markets, particularly in Europe. This announcement comes from Ultraviolette Automotive, a company that has already established a presence in several European countries with its existing models, the Mach 2 and F77 SuperStreet.

The Shockwave boasts a modern and stylish design, reminiscent of contemporary mid-weight adventure bikes. It features a sleek MX-style tail, low-profile tank, and Dakar-esque navigation tower and beak. The bike's weight of 265.5lbs is similar to an average 450 MX bike, making it accessible for a wide range of riders.

One of the standout features of the Shockwave is its electric nature, which means no clutch or shifting and minimal maintenance. It rides on an off-road-ready wheel-set with a 19-inch unit in front and a 17-inch hoop in back, both equipped with knobbies. The bike's lighting system includes stacked dual projector LED headlights and a rectangular 5-inch TFT display in a portrait-style orientation mounted to the navigation tower.

The Shockwave's suspension consists of a 37mm cartridge-style fork and a rear mono-shock, offering 7.87" and 7.08" of travel respectively. The bike's braking system is impressive, featuring a front axial-mounted dual-pot caliper, a 270mm disc, a floating single-piston caliper for the rear, a 220mm disc, switchable dual-channel ABS, and six levels of dynamic regenerative braking.

The Shockwave is also equipped with fork guards, a front disc guard, and a skid plate. Under the hood, the bike is powered by a chassis-mounted 10.8-kW Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor generating 14.5hp and an astounding 372ft-lbs of torque at the rear wheel. This motorcycle produces over 372.5ft-lbs of torque, making it a powerful off-road contender.

The Shockwave's top speed is around 75mph, and it has four separate traction control modes to manage its torque. The MSRP for the Ultraviolette Shockwave is ₹149,000 (approximately $1,720). Interested parties can register their interest on the company's website, but the bike is not yet available for order. With its accessible price point, modern design, and powerful performance, the Ultraviolette Shockwave is poised to revolutionise off-road and dual-sport riding for a wider audience.
